Chillgard® Photoacoustic Infrared Refrigerant
Monitors |
Why Require Photoacoustic?
There are two types of infrared sensors that are
applied for refrigerant detection; Photoacoustic and Non Dispersive
Infra Red (NDIR).
For over 20 years, Photoacoustic infrared sensors have
been refined and applied to refrigerant detection by MSA. It is the
best, most stable technology for mechanical room applications.
Mechanical rooms present many “atmosphereic
challenges”. NDIR is much more suspetable to atmospheric changes. They
also typically require a “reference” signal to auto zero and reduce
drift.
Photoacoustic sensors are very accurate, stable and
experience very little drift under exteme applications. The performance
and reliability of the photoacoustic sensor virtually eliminates false
readings. It is the industry standard due to its excellent and time
tested performance.
